Amman Animation Festival Begins

Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) launched the first Student Animation Film Festival last week unveiling Jordanian talents, in support by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE).
The festival, held under the patronage of Issa Batarseh (Ph.D.), the president of PSUT, aimed at encouraging students to unveil their latent talents to Jordanian companies to employ them as fits.
Students got the chance to showcase their films to more than 250 investors, businessmen, and talent scouts. A brief presentation on each film's story and basic ideas took place earlier during the festival.
"QRCE is keen on supporting such events and activities for their role in stimulating the youth to create and innovate, unveiling their talents. This festival will also create a linkage with concerned investors." QRCE Networking Manager, Mohammad Obaidat said.
He added, "Our support for this festival springs from our belief in the Jordanian youth's ability to innovate and create, which creates an added-value for companies with vacancies to fill."
The festivals objective was to create a real investment opportunity from one side, while assisting the students in obtaining a chance to move their creations to the next level.
It is worth mentioning that QRCE is a Non-Profit organization established in 2004 to help develop Technology Entrepreneurship in Jordan. It plays the role of a national Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship. As part of QRCE strategic plan, the Center is implementing a comprehensive initiative focusing on four key areas: Networking, Recognition & Awareness, Capacity Building & Support, and Funding.
