American Express Middle East and North Africa welcomes new Head of Card Sales and Client Development

American Express Middle East and North Africa (MENA) announced today that it has appointed Simon Nelson as Vice President, Card Sales and Client Development. Dubai-based Nelson will be responsible for developing American Express’ corporate and consumer business across the region.
An industry veteran with more than 15 years’ experience, Nelson joined American Express in 2007. Working in London, he was Director of Direct Sales for EMEA at Global Network Services (GNS), the business unit that manages American Express’ relationships with card-issuing business partners around the world. In 2009, he was recruited to build and deploy the UK sales team of American Express’ business travel operations.
William Keliehor, Chief Executive Officer, American Express MENA, said: “2011 is shaping to be a great year for American Express MENA. Simon’s appointment, and the wealth of experience he brings, will further support our growth as we continue to build our consumer and corporate Cardmember base in our 18 markets.”
