Over 200 students have embarked on a comprehensive summer Internship Program organized by Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) Career Development Department. The program aims to help students find essential work experience and help them make the transition to the labor force once they complete their university studies.

The students, who this year were able to directly apply for internship positions through ADU’s new online portal, commenced their six-week training in a diverse range of local and international organizations in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Landscape Architecture (LAR) was introduced to this year’s program, enabling the first batch of student-trainees to gain work experience in this field while there were also opportunities in more traditional fields of engineering, auditing, banking, IT, public relations, marketing, architecture, interior design and oil & gas.

Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, ADU Chancellor said, “We are grateful to these organizations who have given their support to ADU’s Internship Program. They recognize the importance in assisting students to shape their future careers by offering them rewards in training and real life work experience.”

Dr. Ibrahim also revealed that the Internship Program will be available on a year-round basis. “Students now have the flexibility to choose an internship period of their convenience,” he said. “Students’ individual work plans will be carefully designed by their respective college and consolidated with their particular field of study to maximize their learning and career growth.
