Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) this year, scheduled 7-13 November 2010, will be conducted in partnership with over 22 private and public organizations and associations, academic establishments, and businesses that have designed activities and events to engage students, educators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.

The event, at this second gathering in Jordan, will be attended by prominent entrepreneurs, business people, investors, support organizations, government representatives and local innovators who come together to provide young people with the necessary support, education and inspiration.

Farhan Kalaldeh, the Executive Director of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship QRCE said, "GEW activities, along with its intervening training courses, education segments, and workshops, aim at reinforcing the culture of entrepreneurship and encouraging creativity and innovation within entrepreneurs, startups & youth."

Adding, "this program and its objectives has been formulated according His Majestys vision and will, for an active youth role in the continuous development process by encouraging creative individuals to release their talents and creativity while preparing a suitable environment that would allow them to turn their ideas into thrifty projects," urging the youth to participate in this event as it presents a true opportunity for meeting development and funding parties.

Carmen Saad, Managing Director of Endeavor Jordan, stated, " We have lately witnessed a notable progress in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jordan. There are several programs and organizations supporting entrepreneurship, and we're very proud that most of them are joining us in this movement to raise awareness and educate the youth on the importance of entrepreneurship in our growing economy."

In addition to academic activities and field-based programs, GEW activities will include conferences and training courses targeting startups. The activities aim to increase the marketability and competitiveness of their businesses through the use of various business skills and tools.. Other activities will highlight some major challenges and obstacles that entrepreneurs face in local and regional markets and ways in which to overcome these.

GEW's calendar also includes field visits to several schools and universitiesto engage the young generation in voicing their ideas, while listening to some success stories.

Partners in GEW Jordan 2010 include: iPark, Business Development Center, DART, Amman Baccalaureate School Alumni, Amman Tech Tuesdays, Aramram, Change Agent for Arab Development and Education Reform (CADER, Gate2Play, Green Future, Hamzet Wasel, IEEE, Meydan, N2V, Young Entrepreneurs Association.

Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship

The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) is a Non-Profit organization established in 2004 to help develop Technology Entrepreneurship in Jordan.
