Wataniya Airways: Additional flights from Cairo for Kuwaiti nationals stranded in Egypt

Wataniya Airways, Kuwait’s best airline announced today adding daily extra flights from Cairo to assist the Kuwait Government’s efforts to evacuate all nationals stranded during the current Egyptian crisis. 

Abdulsalam AlBahar, Chairman and Managing Director of Wataniya Airways, said “We continue to operate our schedule to and from Cairo as normal with two to three scheduled daily flights, and we have now added extra flights to the Egyptian capital to help Kuwaitis wishing to leave the country to do so.” 

Wataniya Airways has started adding extra flights in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Government since Saturday one extra flight on Saturday and six additional flights yesterday, and more to come. 

“I have personally travelled to Egypt on Saturday to ensure smooth operations at our station for our guests. We continue to constantly monitor the situation in Cairo, the security of our guests is our top priority and we have contingency plans in place to assure their safety and security at all times. As of now, we continue to operate our normal schedule to Cairo with heavy demand from people coming back to Kuwait. In light of the current political situation in Egypt we have provided options for our guests wishing to change their reservations to other dates or request a refund at no extra cost,” AlBahar concluded, adding “we have placed all our capabilities under the Kuwaiti Government’s control and we’re in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo.”
