STC offers local roaming service for Zain

STC and Saudi Zain for Mobile Telecommunications signed an agreement whereby STC will provide local roaming services enabling Zain to deliver its services across the Kingdom using the region’s largest and most advanced network.

This agreement is an extension of the distinctive business relationship between both companies that began in 2008 when STC began providing a series of services for Zain including data link services local and international messaging capacities, international internet services, and usage of towers which enabled Zain to launch and commence its services in the Kingdom.

Zain’s selection of the STC network for local roaming services comes as a strong affirmation and trust in STC’s capabilities, quality, and coverage of its network which is considered the largest and most advanced across the region providing Zain customers a wider coverage and better quality.

Upon signing the agreement, Eng. Saud bin Majed Al Daweesh, STC Group CEO said that STC considers the services to licensed operators in the Kingdom is a strategic pillar for the Company and that the services provided to Zain is part and parcel of this strategy, not withstanding that STC has provided similar services to other licensed operators thus assisting them to launch their services in record time.  Doing so, this also contributed in creating a positive competitive environment and directly impacting the development of the telecommunications sector that is in line with the directives Government of the Two Holy Mosques in liberating the telecommunications market and upgrading the services provided to citizens and residents alike.
