Starbucks Jordan participates in Starbucks global month of service

In celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary, Starbucks is partnering with nonprofit organizations around the world to host a global month of service throughout April. Part of Starbucks company-wide commitment to create thriving neighborhoods wherever it does business, the global month of service invites partners (employees) and customers to roll up their sleeves and participate in service projects to help create positive, sustainable change in neighborhoods around the world.
To mark our community service commitment in the Middle East, Starbucks partners (employees) have been building on this program for the past three years across nine markets. To date they have delivered over 150 projects amounting to over 10,200 hours spent on community service in the region. Known as Community Connections, this ongoing program aims to connect, discover, and respond to the local neighborhoods & communities.
“Our Involvement in communities and neighborhoods is something Starbucks has been passionate about since inception,” said Rana Shaheen, Regional Communications & CSR Manager, for Starbucks MENA “By mobilizing our partners and customers to be change makers in their communities, we’re tapping into a passionate network of people eager to be a force for good in the neighborhoods where they live and work.”
Global Month of Service Goals
With a focus on benefiting youth and the environment, Starbucks is working with nonprofit organizations around the world to host a variety of service projects throughout April. Harnessing the power of more than 200,000 partners globally, and more than 50 million customers served worldwide each week, the company has set a goal of 200,000 hours of community service to be volunteered during this global month of service.
As part of Starbucks Shared Planet goals, the company has made a commitment to contribute one million hours of community service by 2015. The volunteer hours during this global month of service will help Starbucks reach that goal.
