UAE singer Ruwaida Al Mahrooqi denied circulating rumors that she has joined the cast of the new Gulf drama “Ma Nitafiq” (We don’t agree) to mark her first acting experience. Ruwaida said that she had at first given an initial acceptance until she went over the scenario and was very interested in the role she was to play, but due to conflict in timing of filming the scenes of the drama and filming the photo shoot for her new album led her to turn down the role.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Ruwaida stated that currently she is busy placing the final touches on her new album that will be released in the very near future along with filming a music video for one of the songs. She added for this reason she did not want to get herself involved with other projects especially since her main profession is singing.
Ruwaida noted that the intention of entering the acting world is there and she is in fact going over a number of scenarios for different dramas to chose the most suitable one to make her debut.
