The Cairo International Film Festival concluded its 34th round with Egypt winning the golden pyramid for the film “Al Shawq” (Desire), which stars Egyptian controversial singer/actress Ruby. The film is directed by Khaled Al Hajar and produced by Mohammad Yasin.
Director of the film dedicated the prize to the late internationally known director Yousif Shaheen and to the set designer Hamid Hamdan, who passed away during filming the scenes.
The Egyptian film “Microphone” also won a prize worth 100 thousand Egyptian pounds for best Arab film. Actor Khaled Abu Al Naja, who is the leading actor in the film, accepted the award.
Egyptian actor Amro Waked won the award for best actor for his role in the film “Al Ab Al Ghareeb” (The strange father).
