Jordanian singer May Saleem announced that she has postponed her wedding date in light of the events taking place in Egypt.
The bloodshed in the streets of Egypt has caused her great agony and caused her depression that has forced her to remain in bed, said May.
According to the internet website MBC.net, May said that she and her Egyptian fiancé businessman Ali Rifa’ie have postponed their wedding that was scheduled to take place on Valentine’s Day 14 February.
May said that she considers Egypt to be her second home and the least she can do to show her support is to postpone her wedding. May refused to leave Egypt in the midst of the crisis, wanting to be part of the revolution of the Egyptian people.
Mass popular protests against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak since 25 January may usher in a new leadership in Cairo.
