Young Egyptian actress Mai Izz El Din revealed that she will be playing the role of a Coptic Christian in her upcoming television series “Adam”, in which she stars in alongside Egyptian singer Tamer Husni. Mai stated that she was very impressed and enthusiastic about the role. She added that the script was very well written that she anticipates the drama will be a sure success.
According to the London based Elaph, Mai said that this is the first time she plays the role of a Christian, which is a complicated one that required her to place great efforts in. she added that she made it a point to talk to all her Christian friends in order to understand their ways to be able to play her part in a very convincing manner.
Mai revealed that her other drama “Villa Karma” has been postponed to Ramadan of 2012, and she along with the producing company made the decision simultaneously.
With regards to her upcoming film with Tamer Husni “Omar and Salma 3”, Mai stated that the film has been postponed for several reasons. The first reason was the fact that most of the cast are busy filming works t be aired during the upcoming Ramadan season. Secondly, most of the remaining scenes to be filmed are outdoor ones, and the current unstable conditions in the streets of Egypt are making it impossible to complete. She added that she is hopeful that once circumstances allow it, the film will be complete and screened.
