News sources have revealed that Egyptian journalist Hala Sarhan has returned to Cairo, after the re-opening of studios at production company ‘Rotana’ at Media Production City. Hala will resume her position at ‘Rotana’ as a program host.

According to the London based Elaph, Hala fled Egypt over controversy created by an episode of the “Hala Show” in which she talked about prostitution in Egypt. Hala was temporarily banned from entering Egypt, and was even threatened with arrest if she entered the country.

The former Egyptian interior minister, who is currently imprisoned for corruption, banned her from entering Egypt upon request by former first lady of Egypt Suzan Mubarak.

During Egypt’s January 25 Revolution that overthrew the government of former President Husni Mubarak, Hala had announced her full support for the protesters and was elated over their success.
