Egyptian actor Fathi Abd Al Wahab has recently completed filming the final scenes of his new short film about the Egyptian January 25 Revolution titled “Kharabto Al Balad” (You ruined the country). Fathi played the leading role in the film and refused to be paid as a sign of support to the film makers.
The events of the film revolve around a college graduate that fails to find a job and ends up doing menial jobs for minimum pay. The young man becomes negatively affected by the Egyptian Revolution, which overthrew the government of ousted President Husni Mubarak, and strongly believes that the chaotic conditions that now cloud over Egypt are the reasons behind his economical and psychological hardships. The young man considers that the revolution and revolutionist have ruined the country and caused life to be intolerable.
The film was filmed over a period of two days in the downtown area of Cairo.
