Egyptian actress Bushra has expressed her joy over the decision of former Egyptian president Husni Mubarak to step down from power, after the people of Egypt waged a successful and largely peaceful revolution to over throw him and his government.

On her official Facebook internet webpage, Bushra said that in the past years, she has refused to accept condolences for her father’s death from a heart attack in 2006.

Bushra’s father was Dr. Ahmad Abdullah Raza, a political activist against Mubarak’s regime that led political protests in the 1970’s.

“Mubarak’s regime caused my father great harm over his political beliefs, and now finally it has ended to begin a new era of freedom and true democracy,” said Bushra.
