Former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez is said to be holding talks about managing the Qatari national team.
The 44-year-old is negotiating the Qatar Football Association about potentially replacing Tintin Marquez, as per Sport.
The FA has apparently lost confidence in Tintin, following the team's poor displays In World Cup qualifying.
Qatar is fourth in their group, with the best two sides qualifying directly to the final stage.
Xavi, who is currently unemployed previously coached Al-Sadd in Qatar between 2019 and 2021, and guided the Doha-based club to clinch seven titles.
He then returned home to manage Barcelona before being relieved of his duties on 24 May 2024 by club president Joan Laporta.
Xavi guided Barca to winning LaLiga and the Spanish Super Cup titles in 2023.
