Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez refuted the rumors of him leaving the Qatari giants by revealing he is ‘close to signing a new contract.’
The former Barcelona midfielder is widely tipped to return to Spain to manage his old club. But now Xavi and his coaching team are set to sign a contract extension, which will keep them at Al Sadd until June, 2023.
When asked about the rumors about his departure, Xavi said: “This is not true. I am very close to signing a new contract with Al Sadd. The issue of my exit from the team is just rumors and I am very happy to work with the players and the club.”
