Wrestler Akgul wins Turkey's first gold in Rio, Iran's Ghasemi claims silver

Taha Akgul on Saturday became the first Turkish male wrestler to win a gold medal at the Olympics.

Akgul defeated Komeil Nemat Ghasemi of Iran 3-1 in the 125-kg freestyle event at the Rio Games.

The win increased Turkey’s medal count to eight overall, with one gold, three silvers and four bronzes.
