US to Attend Opening Ceremony of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi

President Donald Trump of the United States yesterday announced the designation of the head of the Presidential Delegation to the UAE to attend the opening ceremony and other events of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, beginning 14th March.

According to a statement released by The White House, Karen Pence, Second Lady of the United States, will lead the delegation.

The Special Olympics World Games 2019 will be hosted in Abu Dhabi in March 2019 for the first time in the Middle East North Africa since the movement’s founding over 50 years ago. The event is the world's largest sports organisation for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Over 7,000 athletes from over 170 countries will be coming to compete in a series of sports, as well as a variety of initiatives and activities held across the seven Emirates.
