Turkish national football team coach Fatih Terim ended his contract on Wednesday, two weeks after he came under fire for allegedly assaulting a restaurant owner.
Turkish Football Federation released a statement saying the parties have decided to "part ways" as a result of "non-football-related issues."
Video footage released this month showed the 63-year-old, along with his two sons-in-law and two bodyguards, attacking a restaurant owner in the tourist hub of Alacati, western Turkey.
The brawl reportedly eminated from a business rivalry, as Terim's son-in-law owns a restaurant nearby.
The attacked owner filed a complaint to the police, Hurriyet daily reported.
Terim was national team coach on a third term since August 2013. He previously worked for clubs including AC Milan, Fiorentina and Galatasaray, helping Galatasaray become the first Turkish club to win a European trophy, the UEFA Cup in 2000.
Before turning to coaching, he was Galatasary goalkeeper for 11 years.
