Nico Rosberg will be on the pole for the third time this season when the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix takes place this weekend.

Rosberg took Saturday's qualifying session with a lap of 1 minute, 13.876 seconds, on the tricky and wet Monte Carlo street circuit, edging his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton by 0.091 seconds.

It was the third consecutive pole for Rosberg and fourth in a row for the Mercedes duo. The pole driver has won eight of the last nine Monaco races.

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber took the third and fourth spots on the grid. Vettel is the Formula One points leader and Webber won the Monaco Grand Prix last year.
