Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Al-Nassr early due to an international suspension.

The former Manchester United star was booked for a bad foul on Slovakia's goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier on Friday.

Portugal is set to face Luxembourg on Monday without the 38-year-old who picked up a suspension via a yellow card he received and was fortunate not to have been sent off.

Ronaldo is set to lead Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday when they take on Al-Raed.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored six goals in five matches far for the Riyadh-based club this season thus far.
