Former Italy manager Roberto Mancini wants to make history as Saudi Arabia national team coach.
The 58-year-old is set take charge of the Middle Eastern team after resigning as Italy coach in a deal that runs until 2027.
The former Manchester City and Inter coach will reportedly earn €25 million per year.
Mancini took to his Instagram account and said as quoted by Tribal Football: "'I have accepted to embrace such an exciting new project, grounded on a shared vision and purpose to grow the national football sector as well as the young talents and the future generations, who have always been close to my heart."
The Saudi football team clinched a historic 2-1 win over Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year and is considered one of the best sides in Asia.
Mancini's first match in charge of the Saudi team will be against Costa Rica on September 8.
