The much-awaited Real Madrid academy is all set to open in Muscat this season, according to a top official of the club.
Speaking to Times Sport, Rayco Garcia, representative of Real Madrid's international relations department informed that the talks with the local representative in Muscat are in the final stages and the academy will be opened very soon.
"We are in the final stages of the project and the academy will be opened anytime soon," Rayco informed.
Rayco, without divulging further details, said with the help of the academy, the Spanish giants will hunt for Omani talent to play in Europe in future.
"That is what we are aiming at. What we have seen that there is a lot of passion for football in this country and we want to see Omani talent play in Europe and that is what we are looking at. Hopefully once the academy opens, we will see how it works," Rayco added.
