The Oman football team will host New Zealand in a friendly at the Seeb Sports Stadium on November 12, the Oman Football Association (OFA) announced on Monday.

The friendly will be the only warm-up match for the Red Warriors ahead of their Group D 2018 World Cup qualifier against hosts Turkmenistan in Ashgabat on November 17.

Oman currently sits on top of the group with 11 points from five games, while Iran, which has played one game less, has eight points. Turkmenistan is third with seven points, while Guam trails on goal-difference, though it has seven points. India has lost all the five matches it has played so far.

Oman had defeated Turkmenistan 3-1 at home in September.

The All Whites boast of a strong line-up of players who play in leagues in England, Australia, Sweden and France. The team's captain, Winston Reid, plays in the English Premier League for West Ham.
