Tennis icon Novak Djokovic is set to return to the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells next month, after a five-year absence.

The world number one did not take part in the tournament since 2019 due to COVID-19 and US travel restrictions.

The 36-year-old Serbian will be aiming to clinch a record sixth title this time around.

Djokovic will be competing against the likes of Jannik Sinner, Taylor Fritz, Rafael Nadal, and defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz.

The Indian Wells will be held in March in California. Matches are played on outdoor hardcourts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
