After finishing medical tests with Serie A giants Roma, Egypt winger Mohamed Salah has expressed his pleasure with the Italian fans’ warm welcome.
The 23-year-old attacker was warmly greeted by AS Roma's fans upon his arrival in the Italian capital to complete a move to the Serie A runners-up.
The former Basel, Chelsea and Fiorentina star attended a meeting with Roma's coach Rudi Garcia after completing the tests.
"I can't wait to get started," Salah was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.
"I wasn't expecting such a warm welcome," the Egyptian star added.
Salah excelled during a six-month loan spell from Chelsea at Fiorentina last season, scoring nine goals in 26 appearances in all competitions. The team finished fourth in the Serie A and reached the Europa League semi-final.
His fine displays prompted the Viola to take up the option of making his loan-deal permanent, but he turned down the offer to stay.
