Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is counting on Luka Modric to continue playing a key role for the club next season, according to Cadena Cope.
The Croatian has one year remaining on his existing contract at Santiago Bernabeu, but the club have not yet confirmed reports he signed a one-year extension after being crowned 2018's Ballon d'Or winner.
Modric has racked up 41 appearances for Madrid across all competitions this season, scoring three goals.
