Manchester City are ready to launch a bid to sign Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes in the summer, as per AS.

The European champions are eyeing a new midfielder to play alongside Rodri, and have identified the Brazil international as their primary target.

City boss Pep Guardiola has always been an admirer of the Newcastle midfielder.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 26-year-old who signed a new five-year deal at St James' Park in October 2023.

The contract reportedly has a £100 million release clause which may be triggered by City in the summer.

Guimaraes has three goals and seven assists in 40 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions this season.
