Liverpool's players are reportedly hoping to see Pepijn "Pep" Lijnders succeed Jurgen Klopp as team boss.
Lijnders who is Klopp's assistant manager is set to leave at the end of the season along with the German coach.
However, pundit Alan Brazil spoke to talkSPORT, and said: "I am told the [Liverpool] players wouldn't mind the number two, Pep taking over."
Former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders revealed that he had heard the same rumors as well.
Lijnders was hired in 2014 to manage the U16s at Liverpool’s Academy, before progressing into the first-team set-up.
He briefly left the Reds to take over at NEC Nijmegen before returning to Anfield in 2018.
