Liverpool are in-form at the moment and they will be looking for their 10th straight victory on the bounce having found a way to win in almost any situation this calendar year.
The Reds host Manchester City and have the home field advantage as well as a knowing that five of the last six at Anfield between the two have been draws, giving them belief that they will take at least a point if not more from their title competition.
Although City won on Boxing Day, the Citizens got a helping hand from a poor offsides call that caused a bit of controversy and will be hoped not to be repeated at Anfield.
With Liverpool firing on all cylinders it is likely to be match that could turn into a track meet with both sides rushing to counter attacks and is certain to be a fun one to watch.
City need to win as it will bring them to within a point of Liverpool with two games in hand.
However, if Liverpool win they will be seven points clear of City and negate the two matches in hand making the title almost theirs to loose.
Daniel Agger is the only doubt for the Reds while Matija Nastasic, Micah Richards and Yaya Toure are all doubtful for the Citizens with Toure likely to find a way to play no matter what with his current run of form.
Lucas Leiva could return to a first team place, but the form of Philipp Coutinho makes him hard to rule out for contention once again and Lucas could be the late substitution to try and sure up the defense if the Reds have the lead late on.
