Liverpool's new boss Arne Slot is ready to enter the market in search for a replacement to Darwin Nunez, according to the Sun.

The Uruguay international is reportedly keen on leaving Anfield in the coming weeks, amid interest from Barcelona.

Therefore, Slot has identified Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins as a proper replacement for Nunez, who never really lived up to expectations.

Meanwhile, Watkins had an impressive season at Villa with 27 goals across all competitions.

He has earned a spot in England's provisional squad for Euro 2024 under Gareth Southgate.

The 28-year-old is tied to the Villans until the summer of 2028, and is currently valued at €65 million, as per Transfermarkt.
