Manchester United are ready to compete with other rivals for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.

The 28-year-old was linked with a switch to Bayern Munich in the summer.

He agreed to personal terms with the Bavarian giants, however, the club failed to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga champions over a transfer fee.

Several European heavyweights including Barcelona are monitoring the defender who will be available for free at the end of the season.

Tah's current deal with Leverkusen is set to reach its end next year, and he is unlikely to agree to new terms afterward.
