Iran national football team will play a friendly match with Iraq in early November.

Iran was originally scheduled to play Thailand but the match was called off following death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.

The Iranian football federation has announced that Team Melli will play Iraq on November 6 in Tehran.

Iraq thrashed Thailand 4-0 in their 2018 World Cup qualifying game on Tuesday to earn a first win on the road to Russia.

Iran is preparing for the match against Syria in the 2018 World Cup qualifier which has been scheduled for November 15.

Iran leads the way in Group A of the 2018 World Cup qualification with 10 points from four matches.

Syria sits fourth with four points.
