Iran’s national football team beat Vietnam 2-0, advancing to the knockout stages of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
Iran dispatched Vietnam 2-0 on Saturday to reach the last 16 of the Asian Cup and set a new group-stage win record.
Azmoun opened the scoring at the Al Nahyan Stadium with a close-range header seven minutes before the break, before adding a second in the 69th minute to put the result beyond doubt.
With a 5-0 win against Yemen on Monday, Iran now has bagged 6 points from its first two matches in Group D of the competitions gaining an early spot in the Round of 16.
