Iran basketball team to play friendly matches with Japan

A mixture of Iranian experienced and young basketball players will travel to Tokyo to play two friendly matches with Japan.

The Iranian team, headed by Mehran Hatami, finished in second place at the West Asia Basketball Association (WABA) Championship 2017 Qualifiers last week.

Iran also qualified for the FIBA Asia Cup 2017 which will be held in Lebanon from August 10 to 20.

Iran B Team will play two friendly matches with the Japanese team as part of preparation for the upcoming tournaments.

The friendly matches have been scheduled for February 10 and 11.

Japan is also preparing for the East Asia Basketball Championship for Men to book a place in the FIBA Asia Cup 2017.
