Five Egyptians are among the 16 men competing in the ongoing finals of the 2017 Pacific Market International Bellevue Squash Classic tournament, taking place between 16 and 20 May.

World No. 5 Marwan El-Shorbagy, Ali Farag (8), Rami Ashour (7), and Tarek Momen (10) are among the top six seeds of the tournament, with Frenchman Gregory Gaultier at the top and James Willstrop (6) seeded fourth.

World No. 3 Omar Mosaad was the fifth Egyptian to reach the finals, but was ousted early, losing to Gaultier 3-0 in the first round on Tuesday.

“I expected a tough match," said Gaultier after the game, adding that Mosaad “is on his way back after having a bad season.”

Gaultier will face Momen in the quarterfinals after the latter secured his spot by defeating Gregoire Marche of France in a five-round game.

At Wednesday's first round games, Farag will meet American Dylan Cunningham, Ashour will face Swiss Nicolas Mueller, and El-Shorbagy will play Malaysian Nafiizwan Adnan.
