World’s 117th Tunisian tennis player Malek Jaziri has qualified for the semi-finals of the $3,057,135 Dubai International Tennis Championships after eliminating Thursday's Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (world’s 82) 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
Jaziri, who benefited from a wild card to participate in this tournament, had defeated in the first round top seed Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, world’s 4th, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, before knocking out Dutchman Roben Haase (world’s 43rd) 7-6, 7-6 in the second round.
In the semi-finals, the Tunisian will face Spanish Roberto Bautista (world’s 23rd) who had defeated world’s 50th Croatian Burna Coric 7-6, 6-4.
