Investigators working on the case of comatose Formula One legend Michael Schumacher have reportedly revealed that the German's ski helmet might have broken because it was weakened by the camera fixed to it.
The seven-times world champion, who retired in 2012, was using the gadget to film his son on the French Alpine slopes when he fell and smashed his head on a rock seven weeks ago.
According to the Mirror, experts from a French ski academy are doing tests to check whether the camera made the impact worse, and a source said that the laboratory is testing to see if the camera weakened the structure of the helmet, which was found broken into two parts.
The report mentioned that the camera is intact and has provided police with vital information about the accident, although prosecutors are expected to clear the resort and the makers of Schumacher's ski equipment of blame.
Schumacher suffered serious head injuries in the crash at the French resort of Meribel and remains in a medically-induced coma at Grenoble University Hospital, the report added. (ANI)
