Gareth Bale scored a stunning solo goal to earn Real Madrid a dramatic 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Wednesday night.

Angel di Maria opened the scoring for Los Blancos just 11 minutes in but Marc Bartra dragged the Blaugrana level with a towering header midway through the second half.

However, Bale saved the best until last, poking the ball home from close range after a sensational surge down the left wing.

Even then, Neymar had a the chance to equalise but the Brazilian struck the post in the dying seconds, as Madrid held on to claim a famous win.
