Ahly and Zamalek's Egypt Cup final-16 matches have been postponed by security officials due to Coptic Easter celebrations.

Zamalek were initially set to meet Ittihad El-Shorta on Friday, but security officials refused to stage the game, which would have taken place on the same day Coptic Christians celebrate Good Friday.

"Security officials have been showing great flexibility as to securing games," EFA executive director Tharwat Sweilem said.

"It is just the ongoing conditions and the Easter celebrations require extra security measures to abort any terrorist attack."

Likewise, Ahly's meeting with Haras El-Hodoud, which was due to take place on Saturday, was also delayed due to the Easter celebrations.
