'Worst Devastation I’ve Seen,’ Angelina Jolie Gets Emotional in Mosul

The Hollywood actress was visiting the Domiz Camp, in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which is home to 33,000 Syrian refugees displaced by seven years of civil war.

While the visit from Jolie may bring media attention, there is a question as to how this attention will bring change - as well as if United Nations funds are best served providing the security and logistics for Hollywood Film stars, rather than less glamorous work.

Angelina Jolie called the devastation of Mosul the worst she'd ever seen in her time as a UNHCR special envoy, during a visit to the Iraqi city on June 16, 2018.
