Earliest records of The Nice Carnival suggest it was established in 1294 when Count of Provence Charles Anjou wrote he had passed "the joyous days of carnival." This may mean it was the Nice Carnival he was talking about.
The Carnival is considered one of the major events across the globe, alongside the Brazilian Carnival, Venetian Carnival and Venice Carnival.
The event held annually in February in Nice on the French Riviera, spans a two-week period. It will last till February 29, 2020 under the theme 'King of Fashion'.
