Let’s face it, most of our favorite stars in the Arab celebosphere are getting on a bit: Lebanon’s golden girl Haifa Wehbe is now a Grandma and Egyptian heartthrob, Amr Diab, celebrated his 51st birthday last year. The new kids on the block are prepared to do whatever it takes to make it big in the fame game. From stirring scandal, to taking on daring roles and flaunting their youthful ambition to aging stars, the celebs of tomorrow are prepared to do it bigger and better than those before them.

Some celebs have accepted their fate and are choosing to migrate from the ‘ageist’ Middle East across the pond this year in search of stateside stardom, while others plan to cling onto their fame and rid the region of this new blood by battling it out for the spotlight.

Here are our hot tips for who to watch in 2013. Making waves, getting their claws out and continuing the grand tradition of Arab star scandals, these celebrities look set to take the year by storm.

Fed up of their Mom always being the center of attention, Nancy Ajram's two young daughters have their sights set on the spotlight. Ella and Milla had all eyes on them when they starred in the video for their Mom's hit song, 'Ya Banat' (Oh Girls) last summer. Now they've tasted fame, the girls will be unstoppable in 2013.

After winning over thousands of viewers and a tough celeb judging panel, Murad Boureiky was crowned the winner of MBC’s ‘The Voice’ last month. Already a household name, the Moroccan singing sensation looks set for big things in 2013.

Wannabe star, Nour Iriqsousi, might have missed out on the title of 'The Voice' in 2012's popular MBC singing competition but she hasn't let that stand in the way of her pop ambitions. The Syrian beauty's Iraqi coach, Kadim al Sahir, has taken her under his wing with plans to guide her to stardom this year.

Last year, up-and-coming singer, Sandy, took on one of the Arab world’s most formidable stars: when Nawal al Zoghbi refused to share her stage with the youngster, Sandy told the diva to ‘grow up’. Not afraid to take on the celebosphere’s female heavy hitters, Sandy should be able to hold her own in the future.

Tamer Hosny might already be a household name in the Middle East but in 2013 he looks set to make it big across the pond. The superstar singer is teaming up with U.S. rap legend, Snoop Dogg, on a song that could take the States by storm. Watch out America, Tamer’s coming for you!

Saudi Arabia might not be the easiest place for an aspiring actress to make a living but against all the odds, Lamar brought some flavor to the country’s otherwise dry dama scene last year. With a growing fan base across the region, it looks like this is one Saudi starlet with staying power.

Having stirred up all the scandal she can muster in the Mideast with her now infamous X-rated vid, Lebanese sex-pot Razan Moghrabi is heading stateside. Teaming up with a mysterious international star - suspected to be Shakira - for a racy music video, the starlet looks set to cause some world-class controversy.

Egyptian actress Huriya Farghali caught the attention of TV fans last year when she hit the small screen with starring performances in two dramas. While she caused controversy playing the part of a feisty lady, critics across the region were impressed with what they saw. It seems this former beauty queen isn’t just a pretty face.

In the past, Egyptian actor Mohammad Ramadan has been typecast with the role of ‘bad guy’. But with many an award under his belt and a growing fan base following his role in hit 2012 movie, Abdo Moata, the young star is proving himself the dark horse of Arab cinema and is finally taking the lead.

Emirati starlet, Mariam Hussein’s career went from strength to strength last year as her glamorous good looks and smart choice of acting roles took her from being a relative unknown at the beginning of 2012 to one to look out for in 2013. A rumored marriage proposal from Saudi crooner, Mohammad Abdo, has kept her in the headlines.

Jordanian rising star, Yousef Arafat, might have just missed out on the top spot in Arab Idol but he hasn’t let that stop him from winning in the career stakes. With popular song ‘Ya Baladi’ (My Country) already under his belt, the star has now been scooped up by MBC to hit the small screen.
