Jordan Artist Raises Awareness About The Environment Via Her Works

Maria Nissan is an Amman-based artist and an environmental activist who is using her talent and raising awareness about the environment and climate change using art.

Nissan, who is a US citizen of Iraqi origin, creates art installations that are made from plastic waste she collects from the streets, in the capital Amman.

According to AFP, her giant work was created by using over 2,000 plastic bottles, almost 1,000 shopping bags, and more than 150 hookah pipe hoses.

Maria aims to use her art to highlight the negative effects of using plastics and to mark the importance of preserving the environment to combat climate change and global warming.
