All families are split up...and the case has been so for the past 18 years in Afghanistan. The Taliban do not appear to want peace on the ground. And US support for the country could be dwindling.
The dry and dusty village of Aziz Abad sits on the frontline of Afghanistan's war and is currently under government control.
The village is located in Kandahar province, where the insurgents have kept control despite 19 years of bloody war.
The peace talks came after the Taliban and Washington signed a deal in February but since then, the fighting has intensified on a daily basis with little regard for human life.
