The Burj Khalifa tower is the most iconic and Instagrammed building in Dubai. Beginning construction in 2004, this modern giant claimed its place as the world’s tallest building in 2008 and nothing has come quite as close since. With a roof height of 828m and a nightclub on the 144th floor, the Burj Khalifa tower chalks up several records.

With a distinctive likeness to a ship sail and built in an artificial island off the scenic Jumeirah Beach, the Burj Al Arab is clearly one of Dubai’s most beautiful buildings, as well as popular. It is the third tallest hotel, holding 202 bedroom suites, 18 elevators and 56 floors.

The Cayan Tower, also known as the Infinity Tower before it was inaugurated, was designed by the same architecture firm as the Burj Khalifa, the SOM group. Though it has since been surpassed, when it first opened in 2013, it was the tallest high-rising building with a 90-degree twist.

The Princess Tower is one of the highlights in Dubai. It’s the second tallest building in the city and was only overtaken for the tallest residential building in 2015. It was constructed by the ACC (Arabian Construction Company) in the lively Marina District and includes over 700 units and over 900 parking spaces.

Another of Dubai’s triumphs and once the tallest building in the world, the Almas Tower is said to have taken its design from the unique shape of diamonds, which also lent it its name. The construction of this 360m office tower by ACC took only four years, from 2005 to 2009. It was built primarily for the Dubai Diamond Exchange.

The Ocean Heights residential tower is 310m high and was once planned to be much shorter. The first version of the tower proposed by DAMAS Properties Co. had only 38 floors and second 50. Now with a total of 83 floors, this impressive curved structure stands as the fifth-tallest residential building in the world.

The Rolex Tower is a glittering giant, with 59 floors and not one set purpose. The tower contains apartments, offices retail space, nine-stories of parking space, two exclusive residential penthouses and its lobby features a sleek, modern sculpture by James Clar.

The ACC’s Elite Residence was completed in 2012 and stands at 380.5m. It contains 695 apartments and 12 elevators, as well as spas, swimming pools, a business center and a gym. Situated in the Dubai Marina district, it has particularly scenic views of the artificial palm islands.

The Vision Tower is described as having ‘graceful glass forms to reflect the elegance of Dubai”. Standing at 260m, it acts primarily as an office building and has panoramic views across Business Bay Creek.

The Sulafa Tower is a 75-storey luxury apartment building in the Dubai Marina district. It is 285m tall with over 700 hundred apartments and offers several health club facilities. It provides its residents with a view over sea, Palm Jumeirah as well as Internet and Media City. The building was completed in 2010 by the TAV group.
