Scientific events and pioneering technologies in the Scientific and Medical Exhibitions in Damascus Fairground, Syria

The activities of the scientific and medical exhibitions that are organized by Arabian Group for Exhibitions and Conferences continue at Damascus Fairground, Syria, those exhibitions are: the International Healthcare and Medical Exhibition, Healthcare, the International Dental and Laboratory Equipment Exhibition, Dentalcare, the International Laboratory Technology and Equipment Exhibition, Syria Lab, the International Exhibition for Medicine and Pharmaceutical Industry, Syria Pharma, and the International Exhibition for Chemical Industry and Raw Materials, Syria Chem, and The Specialized Exhibition for Programming and Medical Automation, Medical IT. Those exhibitions witnessed an impressive number of specialized visitors from Damascus and other Syrian provinces, where most exhibitors expressed their comfort with the results they got after two days of the exhibitions. ‘The 5^th Specialized Congress on Dentistry’ and ‘The Scientific Conference for Dental Technicians’ and the rest of the scientific and medical events that are held parallel to the exhibitions continue. The following are some opinions and impressions that some of the participants and visitors have given: 

Al Ram pharmaceutical Industry - Jordan

Mr. Wissam Al-Najmi, vice president of Al Ram pharmaceutical Industry, one of the participants at the International Exhibition for Medicine and Pharmaceutical Industries,Syria Pharma, asserted that the aim of his company’s participation at the exhibition is to find an agent in the Syrian market, he revealed that Syrian legislations in the pharmaceutical regard is showing augmenting flexibility thus allowing easier access  for medicine of Arab origin into the Syrian market with easier conditions, he also revealed that many medicine store owners, distributors, and Syrian medical companies have shown interest in getting agencies or get manufacturing franchise  of some of the products manufactured by his company.

Dalton, Beauté De La Mer - Germany

Mr. Thomas Zosil, Export Manager at Dalton Beauté De La Mer Cosmetics Company, said: “We hesitated a little before coming to participate at the International Healthcare and Medical Exhibition, Healthcare because of what we heard and saw on televisions about disturbances in Syria, but the reassurances that the organizing company has given that life is flowing normally made us confirm our participation, and here we are today in Syria for the first time.”

About his company’s reason for participating at the show he said “Our company worked in the field of medical and cosmetic crèmes and lotions for more than 100 years, today we have 2 factories n Germany, and our products are present in 65 European and Asian countries, and after having participated in different exhibitions in the Middle East, we wanted to get to know the Syrian market through participating at Healthcare so that we can find agents and know the needs of the potential customers.”

Mr Zosil said describing the organization of the exhibition: “Organization is very good, and the organizing team is very cooperative and has provided us with all the information needed for participation, I have visited exhibitions in hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai and the standard of organization is similar to what I’ve seen here.” 

Shenzhen Anke High-Tech - China

Ms. Tanda Tang, International Marketing Manager at Anke Co, spoke of her delight to be in Syria through Healthcare, in which this is her company’s first participation. Ms. Tang said: “We’ve heard about the exhibition from other Chinese companies that have already participated in its previous editions and they advised us to participate especially that it is a specialized exhibition that attracts top local, Arab, and international companies in the field of medical equipment, which offers an opportunity to get to know the Syrian market and enables us to communicate directly with those interested in the field of medical and x-ray equipment so we can introduce our company’s products and services.” 

Euro Teknika - France

Mr. Benoit Fontaine, Sales Consultant at Euro Teknika - France, asserted that his presence in the exhibition comes in the context of supporting his company’s agents in Syria - Jamal Co. - aiming to promote the company’s products in the Syria in addition to training cadres and give some specialized lectures in the exhibition, he added that the Syrian market is very promising and that there are many business opportunities through the company’s partner, he clarified that this exhibition is among the best in the Arab region. 

Agilent Technologies - Switzerland

Mr. Sheller Cat, GM of Agilent Technologies, indicated that this is his company’s third participation in the exhibition after his company participated in the last two editions that took place at Damascus and Aleppo, he saw that the level of organizations is very good and conforms with the standards set by the last editions, although the number of visitors might be less than what it was last year in light of the current situation in the Arab region, but the presence of scientific activities will increase the number of attendees who can be communicated with directly to know their needs and promote the company’s products that are still new in the local Syrian market among those attendees. 

Visitors

Doctor Adib Badee Salem, GM of Al-Badee Pharmaceutical Company, Homs, Syria, was among the specialized visitors of the exhibition, he pointed out that his visit to the exhibition came in the context of exploring the possibility of establishing business relations with participating companies; he added that the medicine store he runs is specialized in local medicine trade and that he is seeking to expand his activities to include medicine and medical equipment importation from outside of Syria to make use of the facilities that the Syrian Ministry of Health is granting regarding the importation of some equipment and medicine that doesn’t affect the Syrian pharmaceutical industry.

Also among the visitors that we have met in the exhibition was Dr. Safwan Muhammad, who affirmed that his visit to the exhibition came in the context of getting introduced to all the new things on show by the exhibiting companies. He added that he has viewed some samples and presentations that can be made use of in his field of work, and he wished to see more of the top European companies at the exhibition in its future editions.
