Ramada Ajman celebrates Earth Hour

Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, a premier destination for business and leisure travellers, switched off lights for 60 minutes on 26th March, 2011 to celebrate Earth Hour with millions of people around the world to save energy and spread awareness about environmental issues.
For 60 minutes starting from 8:30pm, non-essential lighting and electrical appliances around the property were switched off to remind hotel guests and staff about the importance of protecting the environment.
Iftikhar Hamdani, Executive Assistant Manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, said: “We have informed our guests about Earth Hour and encouraged their voluntary participation in this global initiative. We are very pleased that they were very accommodating and supportive. We joined millions of people in over 128 countries during Earth Hour to demonstrate our commitment to energy conservation. We believe that the hospitality industry can and should be a leader in developing innovative solutions to reduce our impact on the environment.”
The Earth Hour is an annual initiative observed within the UAE by both private and public sectors. It is a call to stand up, to show leadership and be responsible for the future. Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman participated as part of the company’s general social responsibility policy.
Hamdani added: “We all benefit by the reduction in carbon emissions and positive impact this will have on global warming. We hope that our participation will contribute in making our planet a better place for ourselves and the future generations.”
