Youth minister job announcement in the UAE - How to apply

ALBAWABA - In an innovative approach, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai posted on X, calling for all young people who are interested in fighting for UAE's youth to apply to Minister/Minister of Youth.

In a post that surprised many, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that he wanted to grant the Emirati youth to be part of the innovation approach in the country as he aims toward incorporating young people into the political process.

The social media post reads: "To our young men and women in the UAE. I am looking for a distinguished young man or woman who can represent youth issues, convey their opinions and follow up on the government files that interest them".

The desired qualities of whoever is interested in applying to that vacancy include being "familiar with the issues of their homeland, aware of the reality of their society, and field in their work, rational in their presentation, courageous and strong in representing their country, passionate about serving the soil of their homeland".

Interested candidates are encouraged to demonstrate their expertise, ability, and integrity by writing to the Council of Ministers at [email protected].

The UAE also initiated a number of efforts to strengthen the youth's sense of national identity. They founded the Emirates Youth Council to represent the interests of young people in government. 

The UAE has made major progress in involving Emirati young people. Shamma bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrui was named Minister of State for Youth Affairs by the UAE Government in 2016, making her the world's youngest minister at the age of 22.
