ALBAWABA - WWIII has been trending on social media platforms especially on X, formerly known as Twitter, as the Gaza-Israel war intensified amid 18 days of continuous attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Many people have been sharing the possibility of a new world war as the Israeli war on Gaza claimed the lives of over 5,000 people with Israeli warplanes continuing to target the area.
On Monday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the world is on the brink of a new world war. The American billionaire said: "I think we are heading towards World War III."
Not only did Elon Musk's statement make people worried about a possible WWIII, but the Washington Post reported that the United States is planning to evacuate American citizens living in the Middle East in case the war in Gaza spreads to include more parties.
According to data from U.S. officials, hundreds of thousands of Americans are living in Israel and Lebanon.
U.S. State Department estimated that before the war, 600,000 U.S. citizens in Israel and another 86,000 were likely to be in Lebanon.
At least 5,79, including 2,360 children and 1,292 women, were killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, according to the latest data from the Health Ministry.
Furthermore, the number of injuries surpassed 16,297.
